Today at 16:00 the Council for Regulations, Mandates and Immunity is expected to meet to consider the SPAK's request for the removal of the immunity of MP Arben Ahmetaj.

CNA learns that Arben Ahmetaj is abroad and at today's meeting of the Council of Mandates he will be represented by lawyers Henrik Ligori and Ardian Visha. 

According to official data, it is a voluminous material of almost 400 pages that is expected to be revealed today by SPAK to this commission. 

Yesterday, SPAK sent a file to the Assembly, where it requested to remove the immunity of the deputy of the SP and the former deputy prime minister, Arben Ahmetaj, in order to make his arrest possible.

This is after SPAK has filed 4 charges against Arben Ahmetaj, in relation to the incinerator affair. In the declassified file, it is said that 6 cases were recorded, where the former deputy prime minister committed corruption.

The Special Structure claims that the socialist deputy has benefited about 500 thousand euros during the years 2016-2020, from the "heads" of the incinerators, Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri.

Doubts have also been raised about the seized villa in Hamallaj, which may have benefited indirectly in 2017.

SPAK also claims that Zoto and Mërtiri paid Ahmetaj about 34 thousand euros in plane tickets and hotels during the years 2013-2017.
