SP MP, Rrahman Rraja has resigned after the violence perpetrated by his relatives against two people in Kruja.

Through a public reaction, Rrahman Rraja states that he has failed as a parent and that he feels publicly shamed by his child.

He apologizes to Prime Minister Edi Rama, his socialist colleagues, the citizens who supported him and the abused persons.

Also, the MP calls on his son Rexhep Rraja to surrender.

"I have no words to express the embarrassment to all those who have trusted me all these years. Unfortunately I failed as a parent and feel publicly shamed by my child. I apologize to my friends and colleagues of the parliamentary group and declare the surrender of the mandate of the deputy and my withdrawal from political life. I apologize to those who have voted for me since 2000 as mayor and for 2 terms as deputy. I apologize to the victims of that shameful violence for my family. I call on my son to surrender to justice. May God give me strength to face this great pain and life to atone for this shame that he left on my shoulders as a stone my son. In the end, thanks and apologies to the party chairman and the prime minister, who did not owe me anything for this great public concern that I caused him".
