The leader of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, shared his position as a politician, but also as part of the opposition, regarding Albania's invitation to the Peace Board.

Invited to the "Now" show, Mediu said that the opposition is in favor and will vote for participation, while he did not hesitate to express doubts that what could happen in Gaza next could create a security precedent in the Balkan region.

"The first question is what will you vote for and the second question is what legal and constitutional logic will you vote on? There is no legal document for the Peace Board. There are several paths to take. It is an idea and after you become part of the agreement, you come and ratify it in parliament according to the obligations. The opposition is in favor of participating in the Peace Board. What interests me as a politician is to understand what geopolitical effects it has. Let us all be in favor, but what could happen in Gaza, the precedent could have a cost in the Balkans as well. The opposition will vote for it with both hands. In principle, there is nothing wrong with it. Albania has been invited, but all the positive and less positive elements must be seen, based on interest", - said Mediu./ CNA
