At the "January 21" tribute ceremony, Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about the investigations related to this event that occurred 15 years ago where 4 protesters lost their lives.

Rama said that the Socialist Party has kept its commitment to bring justice to the lives of the four protesters who were killed. He added, among other things, that it has shown this by making justice independent from the government and by establishing SPAK and the Special Court.

In this way, according to him, the conditions were created for the end of impunity through justice and not the government. On the other hand, he added that the new justice will not be such until this case has been tried.

"To those who want justice for Aleksin, Zverin, Hekurani and Dilaverin, I know that this cry for justice will never die down. The need for justice that was lacking for this great tragedy will triumph because it does not. I want to share with you my truth regarding our responsibility for the sacrificed lives of our 4 martyrs and the pledge to do justice for January 21. We have held that responsibility with dignity and have not betrayed our solemn pledge, while, by making justice independent from political power and by establishing SPAK and the Special Court, we have created the conditions for the end of impunity through the justice system and not through the government. Whoever asks us why justice has not been done for January 21 should look at the Train Station, not at this building. From this building came the nucleus of the Justice Reform, in the building opposite that nucleus was opened and was blessed in the parliament. Until the new justice will have "The trial of January 21 will be an increasingly old justice. But no justice will deny the injustice of January 21. January 21 as an open issue is an open hole in the foundations of new justice. Justice for January 21 is a moral foundation for the Albanian state of law ," Rama said. /CNA
