Tributes for "January 21"/ Rama: The four victims are still not

The ceremony of tributes for "January 21" is taking place at the Prime Minister's Office. The first to speak was Prime Minister Edi Rama, who said that 15 years ago, four innocent lives were taken and several others were injured.

Rama said that these murders were the consequences of what he called “a criminal mind that wanted to show its political opponent that it was killing.” Among other things, he also spoke about the investigations into this matter, saying that the bodies of the 4 victims, although they have decomposed underground, are still not resting in peace.

"When after a few hours the crowd on the boulevard began to disperse, the barrels of rifles were lowered towards the protesters and 4 innocent lives were taken, while other protesters were also injured. A fatal consequence of the criminal mind, which probably did not want to miss the opportunity without showing its political opponents that it really killed. An unprecedented crime for democratic Europe, burning the souls of the families of the 4 young people, who left home and never returned. The 15 years of this gap are like a whole life lived in anxiety, despair and humiliation.

"The time has not come for those 4 parts of your soul whose bodies have been dissolved under the ground to rest in peace. Neither the overthrow of the old justice system, nor the independence of the Judiciary have been enough to erase the shadow of the injustice of January 21. Nor has the decision of the Strasbourg Court more than 2 years ago, for the Special Prosecutors of this Republic to have asked the Special Court for justice for the 4 murders of January 21," said Rama. /CNA
