Energy Transition Summit/Balluku: Energy, one of the most powerful weapons of

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, participated in the Energy Transition Summit held in Athens.

In a statement made by the Summit, Balluku said that this summit focused on the geopolitical developments that have occurred in recent weeks.

Further, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the Albanian team has discussed the underwater transmission line and gasification with ministers from Azerbaijan.

Balluku also stopped at Corridor XVIII, for which he said that Albania is committed to its joint construction in energy.

" The Energy Transition Summit, covering Southeastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean, which took place in Athens over the past two days, certainly focused on all the geopolitical developments of recent weeks that affect the energy sector.

Ministers from all over Europe, their cabinets, but also representatives of large companies have sat down to talk at large tables for consultation, but also for decision-making. Energy, as it has long shown, is one of the most powerful weapons of all states. Coordination of policies, but, undoubtedly, also common plans for a future are very important at these moments.

We have discussed with the Albanian team during these days all our partners, who are part of the new projects we have launched, such as, for example, Italian companies regarding the underwater transmission line or companies and ministers from Azerbaijan regarding the gasification project, but above all we have discussed energy security.

Energy security in Southeast Europe, and especially in the Western Balkans, are the keys to success for the entire development of the ongoing green agenda, as the European Union demands.

We have made our commitments, discussed and reported on all the progress we have made in the energy field, starting from diversification and undoubtedly from interconnection, as one of the most important issues to be discussed in Europe now. Albania is committed, not only in infrastructure, but also in energy for the joint construction of Corridor VIII which will connect Italy, Albania, North Macedonia and Bulgaria in terms of energy.

We also had important talks with the British Minister of Energy, who will also be the chair of the entire organization regarding the Berlin Dialogue in the future, and, undoubtedly, the support of Great Britain has always been and will always be important for Albania.

"The Energy Transition Summit, held in Athens, was undoubtedly another fruitful meeting to coordinate work and tasks, to work for energy sustainability and security, always keeping in mind the well-being of the Western Balkan countries and considering that energy is and will remain one of the most important sectors for the security of all our countries ," said Balluku./ CNA
