EP resolution points to the wounds caused by Edi Rama's governance

DP MP Belind Këlliçi has reacted to the European Parliament's resolution on Albania.

According to Këlliç, this resolution is an objective reflection of the major problems the country has, problems that are hidden by government propaganda every day.

The DP MP underlines that the EP has ascertained the high level of corruption, violations in the recent elections, criminality, money laundering and all the weak points from which major abuses of funds originate, such as public procurement, concessions, licensing and spatial construction planning.

Këlliçi adds that the European Parliament emphasizes the abuse of IPARD II funds, and demands transparency and accountability, and also condemns the hostile climate towards journalists.

"Following the fact-finding mission here on the ground, after research and reviewing information, the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee has prepared a resolution on Albania that is an objective overview of the major problems the country has, problems that are hidden by government propaganda every day. The European Parliament notes with concern the high level of corruption.

The EP once again highlights the serious violations in the recent elections, from blackmailing citizens to vote buying, and urgently calls for these phenomena to be addressed so that they do not recur.

Focusing on the unjustified delay in handling immunity (Balluku case), the EP says that such decisions should be taken without political interference.

The elected Europeans demand parliamentarism according to the standard, which guarantees transparency and accountability. The EP expresses concern about criminality and money laundering.

This resolution mentions all the weak points from which major abuses of funds originate, such as public procurement, concessions, licensing, and spatial construction planning.

The European Parliament emphasizes the abuse of IPARD II funds, and demands transparency and accountability.

Condemns the hostile climate towards journalists. Looking at all these issues raised, anyone can rightly raise the question; is there anything wrong with this government?

This resolution is a valuable contribution and assistance to Albania on the path of integration, and reminds citizens that there are very serious issues that need to be addressed and that one does not get into the EU with propaganda.

Even after this denunciation, Edi Rama will surely continue the same course, protecting corruption, immunity for Balluku, patronage of votes and connections with crime. In the end, the people will suffer the consequences. That is why it is vital that we raise our voices.

"And this EP resolution, in itself, is yet another call to unite and protest against the source of crime and corruption in the country, against what is becoming an obstacle to our national aspiration," Këlliçi emphasizes./ CNA
