International affairs expert Ilda Zhulali commented today on the approaches recently shared by Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding several issues in the country, which she described as chameleon-like behavior.
Invited to "Syri TV", Zhulali stated that Rama has appeared controversial and provocative on many occasions, while highlighting the editorial with Serbian President Aleksandar Vu?i?.
"He doesn't do these things by accident, he does them intentionally and I think that in this interview he was as much of a chameleon, changing skin and contradicting things he himself has said or done before, as well as provocative. Now he finds himself in a very difficult position with the European Union because the first report continues to be blocked by those countries that he has called the Molotov cocktail and whose main locomotive is Germany.
Now he will position himself as a victim. And he is a victim now, because he has stood in favor of Trump's policies, so he will remove himself in Europe as a Trumpist and as if he is being persecuted for this, when in fact it is not at all true, because the blockage has come for other reasons, because of his behavior as prime minister and the responsibilities he has for the fight against corruption, organized crime and all the other things he has as obligations within the European Union. And on the other hand, he becomes a provocateur for the second time, I think, at the European or international level, because with the first provocation it was with the letter with Vu?i?, who said we do not want full membership in the EU. It is enough to put us in Schengen and the European market.
This is, so to speak, the second provocation he makes towards Europe, which is not that these are better than us, that they have neither a political vision, nor do they know where they are going, but in the end, even in terms of crime and corruption, they are like us anyway, they do not make any big difference. But look, there are other countries, like China for example. That is why the proximity of this interview with the people he had invited on his podcast, that we have not seen him invite from other embassies for example, are not accidental, they are intentional and he does this either to challenge European countries, or to provoke the European Union, or to justify himself in the eyes of the Albanian public, because he begins, has begun to gradually build the narrative of blocking the EU membership process. "Until yesterday, he was saying, 'I will get you in by 2027, in 2029 you will have your European passport in your hand,'" Zhulali said. /CNA
