Referendums/ Balla: The time has come for citizens to have their voice

The head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, stated that the moment has come for citizens to express themselves through a referendum. He emphasized that the law on referendums is being drafted with clear deadlines for each phase of the process.

Balla explained that in previous initiatives there have been deadlines exceeded by the institutions involved, so now it is required that the process respect the rules of the law.

He mentioned that 70 days are required under the organic law of the Constitutional Court, making it possible for the total time not to exceed 3 months.

Balla stated that the approval of the law on referendums within this legislature is possible, but added that it is not an easy task.

"The time has come for citizens to have their voices heard.

We have set certain deadlines. In previous initiatives, there was a violation of deadlines by the institutions involved in referendum requests.

It requires 70 days according to the organic law of the Constitutional Court. Keep in mind that all of this should not take more than 3 months.

The time to pass a law on referendums within this legislature is possible.

I can't say this today because it's not an easy task to take an initiative for a law on referendums.
