"Why is the embassy in India reopening?"/ Hasani: We must strengthen

During the meeting of the Commission for European Affairs, the chairwoman Jorida Tabaku discussed some concerns in today's meeting, also addressing the issue of reopening the Albanian Embassy in India.

She recalled the fact that once this embassy was operational and was closed, raising the question of why it was being reopened.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Europe, Igli Hasani, explained some of the reasons not only for the opening in India, but also in Indonesia, Kenya and Nairobi.

"As we know, India is the 5th economic power in the world and on track to become the third country. It is true what you said, Madam President, that it was opened and closed and for trivial reasons at that time, but we want to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations, for the good of the country, so it is being opened again.

Even in Indonesia, the same goal, it is an organized country, with a high economic level, and we want access to the fact that it has an unfriendly relationship with Kosovo, to negotiate for the recognition of Kosovo. Albanian diplomatic representation was also absent in Nairobi and Kenya and there are reasons for their opening. To respond to all developments, needs and demands that the country has and this is the goal", said Hasani.
