"Draft laws take time, it takes 2-3 years to weigh opinions"/ Shehu:

Democratic Party MP Tritan Shehu, in his speech during the Health Committee meeting, spoke about the proposed changes to the Civil Status Law.

Shehu said that approving draft laws takes time and the committees are doing it too quickly without any deliberation. Shehu said that they need time to evaluate whether this draft law works or should be thrown in the trash like the one on gender equality that aims to destroy the family.

" The bad thing about the committee and the Assembly is that things are being done in a hurry. The Civil Status Draft Law takes time, because interest groups and religious communities have expressed their opinions."

Laws take time to be shaped by opinions, 2-3 years.

We are not daily wage workers and farm serfs, we must be given time.  These are laws on which the fate of society depends, on which the concepts of man and woman depend that can destroy the family because they seek to abolish gender.

"When we approve that law, we must evaluate what that law does, just like the draft law on gender equality, even though they are not comparable because it has nothing to do with gender equality, but with inequality ," Shehu declared./ CNA
