TID Durrës/FRPD Project: Unfair, selective and abusive expropriations are

DP Presidency member Orest Berberi has denounced an injustice that, according to him, is being done to the citizens of Durrës.

The barber has stated that in the name of the so-called TID Durrës project, unfair, selective and abusive expropriations are being carried out.

He emphasizes that citizens are being offered expropriation prices that are half the market price.

It also explains that the process is being carried out without notice and without any official documents.

According to him, it is a selective and arbitrary process, where some properties are demolished and others are not, according to clientelistic interests and not according to the law.

"Today, from the headquarters of the Democratic Party, I want to denounce another grave injustice being done to the citizens of Durrës.

In the name of the so-called TID Durrës project, unfair, selective and abusive expropriations are being carried out.

Ordinary citizens have their property destroyed, while for the powerful individuals of the majority, "legal entanglements" save their properties from collapse!

First, citizens are being offered expropriation prices that are half the market price. This is not compensation, but robbery with the state's signature and seal.

Secondly, the process is being carried out without any announcements or official documents. Residents have no transparency and no legal means to protect themselves.

Third, we are dealing with a selective and arbitrary process, where some properties are demolished and others are not, according to clientelistic interests and not according to the law.

And the worst part is the hypocrisy of this project: while citizens' properties are being destroyed in the name of "cultural heritage", multi-story concrete towers are being erected just a few meters away. So, heritage serves as an excuse to harm citizens, while the path to the towers is opened for the clients of the government.

There is only one person responsible for this robbery: Prime Minister Edi Rama, who is selling Durrës to his clients with this project. The local implementer of these orders is the mayor, Emiriana Sako, who has chosen to remain silent and become part of this affair against the citizens.

The urgent request to the government and the municipality is:

Immediately stop this illegal process;

Review the values ??of expropriations according to the real market;

Provide full transparency for every decision;

And stop the selectivity and clientelism that are destroying the city.

"Durres is not the property of Edi Rama nor of Emiriana Sako. Durres belongs to its citizens and we will not allow it to be sold for private interests," said Berberi./ CNA
