Porto Romano/ Karakaçi: We have the withdrawal of the only bidder, they

Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, spoke to the media after the government's decision.

Karakaçi announced that the only bidder competing for the port of Porto Romano has withdrawn, for purely economic reasons.

Regarding the continuation of the project, Minister Karakaçi stated that another scenario will be built and no actor will be able to stop the project.

Further, Karakaçi stated that there will be no delays in the project as it is still in the first phase and has nothing to do with the situation.

" We have a withdrawal of the only bidder that was left in the competition, for a completely economic reason. The Commission will continue with the procedure. I recall that the Prime Minister clearly said that there are actors who are trying to stop it for various purposes, we will build another scenario and any other actor will not be able to stop this important project. Throughout the procurement process, the Durrës Port Authority has had a special contract and all legal documents have been part of it. The Porto Romano project has been under investigation for over two years.

"There are no delays because it is in phases and the contractor is in phase one, it has nothing to do with the phase we are talking about ," Karakaçi said./CNA
