"He takes directors to meetings during working hours"/ Bushati

Former Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati, in a meeting held with young people in Shkodra, harshly criticized Prime Minister Rama.

Referring to a meeting held a few days ago by Rama at the pink headquarters, Bushati said that the prime minister had called to a meeting during official hours directors of the administration who should actually be serving the people.

This, for Bushati, shows that there is no dividing line between the state and the government. The former minister said that the party should be separated from the state administration.

Focusing on EU integration, Bushati stated that Albania has not yet made up its mind to join the EU.

" What impressed me was that the prime minister had gathered friends, my colleagues during working hours, the political leaders of Tirana, where a good part of the directors of state institutions were there, entering the party headquarters during official working hours. So, a clear indication that there is no dividing line between the state and the government. Meanwhile, the director is there to serve during the 8-hour work day at least the socialist, the democrat, the Zogist, the Ballist, the devil and others and others. After those 8 hours, he can do whatever he wants and can do any kind of political activity because no one stops him.

The solution in the case of Albania is not to change the system. In the case of Albania, the main problem in the first place is to guarantee a level playing field. And the capacity and ability and willingness to accept the loss of power. In societies that do not have democratic traditions, change or rotation generally comes more from the willingness of the leader to accept the loss of power than directly from the vote of the citizens. So, we need to separate the state administration from the party.

This is music to the ears. We have a fundamental problem with the financing of public life, political life. And this is where the whole thing starts for us. We can make the electoral system better, more representative. We need to guarantee the rules of the game once and for all. We need to make up our minds if we want to do these things or not. We have not yet made up our minds about joining the EU.

We need to regulate the relationship with money in public life. We have not yet reached the system where the politician is afraid of the people. We continue to be in the situation where the people are afraid of the politician. Every month, Athens was burning from the protests of the Polytechnic students and what was in memory of their revolts during the Greek Junta. There were cases, and I am not calling for Jacobinism at all, there were cases when they dragged the politician or statesman in the figurative sense of the word if they thought he had abused his office. Until we regulate this type of relationship, I am afraid that we will continue to suffer ", said Bushati.
