The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, mocked the opposition during the Municipal Council meeting. While he was talking about schools, opposition councilors intervened and interrupted him.

Veliaj asked them to respect the regulation, while reminding them of the defeat in the election.

He stated that the opposition is allergic to the new schools, but should listen to him when he talks about them because they were defeated in the elections by 60 thousand votes.

"The regulation has sanctions for those who interrupt the speech. I know it's very difficult to lose by 60 thousand votes, it's unbearable. But, it's a 'grit' you have to swallow. I understand that it is painful. The 'marriage' of 60,000 votes can hardly be digested. I know that you probably hate to hear about new schools, because those who have not touched a job with their hands, who have not built a school. You have allergies every time I talk about schools. You were beaten like a "gamori in duhon" with 60,000 votes, so you should listen when we talk about schools. If you talk like a street person, you will get the same result.
