The candidate of the "Together We Win" coalition, Belind Këlliçi, has invited the mayor and candidate of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, several times for a public debate.

The latter responded negatively to the request for a debate, while this issue was asked again this evening on the Blendi Fevziu show.

The journalist asked him why he does not agree to hold political debates, while the mayor of Tirana said that he did not reject them because of fear, but emphasized that he will not approve the candidates of Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta.

Veliaj:  I don't argue with anyone, even with those who are actually the leaders of the coalition Ilir Meta, Sali Berisha. Sali Berisha came and publicly challenged the municipality of Tirana because it intends to take over the city like a horde during the last rally. At the stage when Saliu ran away from the Tirana campaign, Ilir Meta ran away from the campaign, and even the candidate removed his face, I can't argue with my fingers. I will argue with people!

Journalist: This is an excuse that everyone finds an excuse. Why should there not be a debate, in these elections I understand that it cannot be done, but let a gentleman's principle be adopted, the candidates come to face each other.

Veliaj:  I have not hesitated in any debate, even with those who come out with voice and image.
