"We cannot replace 'mother' and 'father' with soulless

Democratic Party MP Tritan Shehu presented the draft law on amendments to the civil status law at the Health Committee meeting.

Shehu states that in the Republic of Albania there are only two genders: male and female and highlighted that the Civil Code leaves this issue evasive because in 2009 there were no such discussions.

" We propose the addition of an Article 38/2:

Biologically unchangeable gender. In the Republic of Albania, there are only two human genders, male and female, and the gender legally determined at birth remains unchanged.

The lack of gender definition in relationships paves the way for absurdities like parent 1 and 2, we cannot allow mother and father to be replaced by soulless numbers. This is the order on which the harmony of society is built...

...There is a problem in the Civil Code, the expression of gender has been left evasive, not intentionally, but in 2009 these were not discussed, now these elements have come to the surface, we must protect our society, this is the reason why we have presented this draft law and why we are against the draft law on gender equality.

The US took a giant step forward and other countries are following suit with President Donald Trump's federal executive order.

"Will we follow it at this point, or will we continue with 'woke' societies ?" said Shehu./ CNA
