The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in his speech today, called on the Democratic leadership not to recognize the May 11 elections.

The chief democrat said that recognizing the elections would make the DP complicit in the farce.

Regarding the debate on whether or not to participate in Parliament, Berisha stated that abandoning Parliament is not the solution.

The democratic leader stated that no empty space should be left from which they can fight against Rama.

Further, Berisha said that defeating Rama requires great commitment and dedication, as well as new forces.

" I invite the presidency not to recognize these elections. Recognition would make the DP co-author of a farce. By demanding this from the presidency, I know that there is a debate about whether to participate in Parliament or not. I think that in this dictatorship we should not leave any empty space from which to not fight against it. If there is one fundamental thing that is required of each of us, it is a stance, how will we change in relation to the narco-dictatorship that has usurped power. Change is required in the face of this mountain of electoral farce. Our battle requires new energy, new forces. Not entering Parliament is not an option. The possibilities to fight it are. It requires a very great commitment and dedication from each of us. It requires using all capacities to return the free vote to Albanians. With Edi Rama, there are no elections. We will open Parliament with an investigative commission for the elections ," said Berisha./ CNA
