The international PISA 2025 test has begun today, which will be conducted in 160 schools in the country, with 6,330 15-year-old students participating, to assess their knowledge and competencies in reading, science subjects and mathematics, an assessment that will be conducted online.
In a meeting with teachers of the "Sami Frashëri" high school in Tirana, the Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu spoke about the measures taken to train teachers and prepare students for the international PISA 2025 assessment.
During the meeting with teachers at the "Sami Frashëri" high school, the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, stated that measures have been taken to ensure that this testing truly reflects the overall level of education in Albania, the work of all teachers, as well as the achievements and competencies acquired by students.
"We have been working all year because we want this assessment and testing to be a realistic test for us and to truly show the contributions and values ??of Albanian education. It is an assessment that reflects the level of education in the country, the work of all teachers and the achievements and competencies acquired by 15-year-old students," said Manastirliu.
The Minister of Education has assessed the importance of this testing, saying that preparations for it have been made for students, teachers, and the appropriate infrastructure.
"I am convinced that the great commitment of students and teachers will make us have good results in the next exam. We are already prepared with teachers, with the right infrastructure because the testing is online for all three branches," said Minister Manstirliu.
The aim of the PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) test is to assess how well prepared 15-year-old students (usually in grade 9 or 10) are in reading, science and mathematics, in the context of facing real-life challenges. The testing will take place according to a calendar over the next two weeks in schools across the country.
Preparations for the PISA test have started a year ago, with teacher training, where 1,000 teachers have been trained, as well as the implementation of mock tests for students. The Ministry of Education and Sports has drafted and is implementing a detailed plan for improving the results in PISA 2025, which includes: in-depth analyses of previous results, periodic training for teachers in key areas, and the development of teaching support materials. /CNA
