Attack on prosecutors and SPAK/ Lawyer: That pressure had never happened before

Lawyer Brizida Gjikondi has spoken about the attack on prosecutors and SPAK following the arrest of Mayor Erion Veliaj.

In an interview with CNA, the lawyer said that she had never felt that kind of sadness when she endlessly read editorials and analyses that were not under the grace of Albanian journalism, that pressure had never happened, that amplification of evil by not letting justice and time speak, a pressure that was unleashed on Albanians.

The lawyer has stated that I think what is happening now is the best scanner of what was happening then.

"I think that there are media that have influence and have relations with the government. In Albania, there are not even a handful of independent media outlets or independent journalists, not to mention the very few who are not contaminated by this rotten and corrupt system that has captured all segments of society and not just a certain media outlet. Politics has tried to spread its infection, especially to its own media outlets, to use them to lead Albanians towards a wrong judgment or reasoning, to use them as "cannon fodder" and to convince them that what is happening to me is wrong.

When the attack on SPAK, on ??SPAK prosecutors, happened, I had never felt that kind of sadness when I read endless editorials and analyses that were not under the grace of Albanian journalism, that pressure had never happened, that amplification of evil by not letting justice and time speak, a pressure that was unleashed on Albanians. What is happening now, I think, is the best scanner of what was happening then. Time has proven the reasons. Sick people who fail to have the national and public interest above personal interest have their judgment clouded and manage to make such opinions that harm an entire nation", said Gjikondi./ CNA
