First visit to the Balkans/ EU Representative, Kaja Kallas, visits Albania

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will visit Albania this week. It is learned that Kallas will also visit Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina from April 7 to 9.

These working dates have been set in the framework of her first visit to the Western Balkans, announced today by the EU External Action Service.

During her visit to the Western Balkans and stay in Podgorica, Kallas will meet on Monday with the President and Prime Minister of Montenegro, Jakov Milatovi? and Milojko Spaji?. Kaja Kallas will hold a meeting with representatives of the civil sector and will participate in an event organized by the Ministry of Defense, with a planned media speech alongside Spaji?.

The next day, Kallas' interlocutors in Albania will again be the President and Prime Minister, Bajram Begaj and Edi Rama. After a joint press conference with Rama, Kallas will hold discussions with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, and the Minister of Defense, Piro Vengu, where they will open the first meeting of the EU-Albania Security Dialogue.

Kaja Kallas will also participate in the signing of the loan agreement between the European Investment Bank for the construction of the railway from Durres to Rogozina and will address students and the non-governmental sector in Tirana.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kallas will discuss issues with representatives of the EUFOR mission, members of the Presidency of BiH, as well as with the President of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elmedin Konakovic. /CNA
