The scandal of chicken with salmonella, according to the DP, should have led to the resignation of the Minister of Agriculture, Anila Denaj. The scandals that have put the health of citizens at risk are not over, said the member of the Presidency. Grigels Muçollari in a statement to the media, while saying that the minister should be investigated. According to him, Denaj has not even implemented the legal process for the destruction of dead birds as a result of the flu.

The Minister of Agriculture, Anila Denaj, has not yet resigned and has not been held criminally liable, even though the scandals in the sector she covers have not stopped. After allowing the entry of salmonella-infected chickens into the market, as she does not guarantee food safety - the duty of the institutions that depend on her - and while the country is in a national emergency regarding food safety, Ms. Denaj has not even implemented the legal process for the destruction of dead birds as a result of the flu.

The law clearly stipulates that the burial or cremation method must be followed, referring to Law No. 10465 on the Veterinary Service.

The show 'Piranajt' has revealed that instead of these methods, the destruction of birds is being carried out using the rendering (grinding) method, introduced as an innovation by Ms. Denaj with an order dated March 4. This order is found in the only official reaction during the height of the crisis, but it has not been published in the Official Gazette - which means that it officially does not exist as an act, making the process itself even more suspicious.

Why was this method introduced? Who is favored? Who is benefiting from this 'bargain'?

While the Minister and the government have not taken any measures to deal with the bird flu - which has damaged over 450 thousand chickens and hundreds of thousands of eggs - Ms. Denaj seems to have found time to favor a client associated with the Renaissance.

If Ms. Denaj violates the law, does not hold herself accountable, does not provide transparency and does not resign - what is SPAK still waiting for to act? When will there be justice for the lack of food security, which is a vital interest for the country?, declared Muçollari.

Muçollari says the Democratic Party prioritizes food security and considers it a matter of national security. He warns that there will be a course of reforms, measures and laws to guarantee food security for Albanian citizens.
