The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has introduced the candidates in Malësia e Madhe. During his speech, Berisha also focused on food safety, which he said is the biggest uncertainty currently, referring to cases of chicken with salmonella or strawberries with pesticides.

Berisha even declared that the prime minister himself had fallen ill with salmonella, although he denied this to doctors and, according to Berisha, said that he had fallen ill from turtles.

The DP leader said that food security will be a matter of national security.

" Food safety is the biggest uncertainty. Salmonella reaches Surrel. He himself gets sick and lies to the doctor that he got sick from the turtles at home. He lies. He got sick from salmonella that came with the chickens. He lied to the doctors. Food safety will be a matter of national security ," Berisha said./ CNA
