May 11th Elections/ The Council of Ministers approves an additional fund of 150

The Council of Ministers has approved today an additional fund for the "support for political parties" program, to finance the election campaign of entities participating in the May 11 elections.

The decision is taken in support of Article 100 of the Constitution, point 1, Article 88, of Law No. 10019, dated 29.12.2008, “Electoral Code of the Republic of Albania”.

This decision of the Council of Ministers enters into force immediately.

"An additional fund in the "support for political parties" program, for financing the election campaign of entities participating in the parliamentary elections of May 11, 2025.

In accordance with Article 100 of the Constitution, point 1, Article 88, of Law No. 10019, dated 29.12.2008, “Electoral Code of the Republic of Albania”, as amended, Articles 5 and 45, of Law No. 9936, dated 26.6.2008, “On the Management of the Budget System in the Republic of Albania”, as amended, and point 1, Article 14, of Law No. 115/2024, “On the 2025 Budget”, upon the proposal of the Minister of Finance, the Council of Ministers decided:

1. To finance the election campaign for the Assembly of Albania on May 11, 2025, a fund of 150,000,000 (one hundred and fifty million) lek is added to the "Support for Political Parties" program, which is distributed to electoral entities participating in these elections by the Central Election Commission.

The financial effect, foreseen according to point 1, of this decision, is covered by the reserve fund of the Council of Ministers, for unforeseen cases of general government units, approved for the year 2025. The Ministry of Finance and the Central Election Commission are charged with the implementation of this decision. This decision enters into force immediately and is published in the "Official Gazette", - it is stated in the VKM. /CNA
