May 11th Elections/ CEC requests measures for voters in special categories

Just a few weeks before the elections, the Central Election Commission has issued a request to the country's municipalities regarding voters within the country's territory.

In a notice published today, the CEC reminds municipalities that they must take measures to guarantee that the premises of voting centers are functional and meet the logistical and infrastructural conditions and the access of Persons with Disabilities for the development of the process.

The Central Election Commission shares this announcement in the framework of pre-election preparations, to respect the right to vote of every voter, including persons with disabilities. In accordance with the relevant instructions, Voting Centers throughout the country will be located on the first floor and must have sufficient lighting.

Ballot papers for blind persons are provided in these elections to enable them to vote in complete independence. Educational materials for voters will be provided in adapted formats such as sign language, audio, etc., in order to respect the right of all voters to information./CNA
