Lawyer Brizida Gjikondi, in an interview with CNA, has given a strong slap to journalists and media outlets affiliated with the government.

Gjikondi has said that a rich journalist stinks.  

Gjikondi emphasized that if a journalist's main target is wealth and not the profession of informing about what is happening by showing it with facts and evidence, then there is no need for comments.

Among other things, Gjikondi underlined that there are television journalists who, in most cases, are for "show", to maintain a certain line, and are never in search of the truth.

"Bravery and courage are related to the interests you have as a person. If you are "responsible", you will definitely attack fiercely because the person to whom you are indebted demands it. But if you are free and have no owner over your head to whom you are indebted, then you are a free and trustworthy journalist. It is not for nothing that Indro Montanelli said a phrase: A rich journalist stinks.

If a journalist has wealth as his main target and not the profession of informing about what is happening by showing it with facts and evidence, then there is no need for comments. The moral of Albanian journalism has not gone where it should be. Journalism is seen as a business profession. We have also seen television journalists who in most cases are for "show", to maintain a certain line, and are never in search of the truth.

"We often see that journalists are used to attack within the same group, within certain parties. It is enough to look carefully and you will understand whose game these journalists are playing. Only freedom gives you courage," Gjikondi told CNA./ CNA
