The establishment of the Water Operator/ Balluku reveals when it will start operating

The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, at the presentation of the Water Operator, stated that this company will be functional in January 2026. Balluku gave an overview of the centralization of the sector, saying that by 2027, 2 units will be created, one responsible for water supply and the other for sector management.

"The new operator will start operations in January 2026.

The 15 regional companies will be divided into 2 units in January 2027, one for water supply, the other for management.

We have 45 areas nearing completion, we still have 16 urban areas left to complete this process, 13 are on the construction site until December 31, 2030.

"These are important months so that in January 2026 we can be operational with the Water Operator ," said Balluku in her presentation./ CNA
