"A battery went dead in court"/ Berisha: Rama transferred security

Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha, at the Parliamentary Group meeting, raised a series of problems in the judicial system that, according to him, led to the murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja.

Berisha said that in 2020, with the VKM, court security was transferred from the State Police to the "Pocket Police," referring to private police.

The leader of the Democrat Party said that one reason is the backlog of cases that causes delays of up to 20 years in reviewing cases, as well as the language used by Rama towards judges.

"A battery was fired in the courtroom as if it were in the middle of the street, in a square, in a cafe and not in a state institution.

With a decision dated July 8, 2020, Edi Rama has annulled the 2010 Council of Ministers decision that made the State Police responsible for court security. In 2010, the security of courts and prosecutors' offices was assigned to the State Police.

Rama made the decision on July 8, 2020 to remove security from the police, and Koçiu washed his hands of it and said we have no responsibility. Rama gave protection to the patronage workers and the pocket police.

Edi Rama has used vulgar speech towards judges.

In Albania, in the last 4-5 years, dozens have been killed and injured, judges are the only ones in Europe who have lost due process.

They had it for 4-5 years, now they have it for 15 years and according to the stock, specialists say it will take 20 years ," said Berisha./ CNA
