On Sunday, November 9, 2025, partial local elections will be held in 6 municipalities in the country. The elections will be held in the municipalities of Tirana, Tepelena, Mati, Cërrik, Vlora and Berat.

The socialist majority has formalized its candidates for all 6 municipalities, while the opposition only some of them. Elections will be held in the Municipality of Tirana following the arrest of former mayor Erion Veliaj.

The Socialist Party has nominated Ogerta Manastirliu for Tirana.

Meanwhile, the opposition has decided to support the independent candidacy of actor Florjan Binaj. A candidacy that will also be supported by the "Albania Becomes" Movement and the Nisma Thurje.

However, also in the race for mayor of Tirana are Arlind Qori from the Together Movement, Marko Dajti, the leader of the Left Front, and the independent candidate, attorney Gylsen Zhllima.

In the Municipality of Cerrik, the vacancy was created after the appointment of Andis Salla to the post of Minister of Agriculture. The Socialists have formalized the name of Florenc Doka as a candidate for Cerrik. The Democratic Party formalized the name of Amarildo Hoxha in this municipality.

The vacancy in another municipality in the country, that of Berat, was created after the candidacy and receipt of the mandate of the deputy by the former mayor Ervin Demo. For this municipality, the SP has nominated Ervin Ceca, who currently holds the position of the acting mayor.
