The candidate of the Joint Movement for the Tirana municipal elections, Arlind Qori, spoke this evening regarding his participation in the race for the capital.

Qori stated on the show "Noë me Erla Mëhillin" that if he wins the elections in the Tirana municipality, he will stop construction permits in the capital.

He said his victory would bring a political earthquake, adding that Prime Minister Edi Rama would not be able to last even a week in government. Qori said his victory would be seen as the start of a political transformation for Albania.

"There can be no room for construction in the space of Tirana. Part of a regulatory plan should be to ban construction in the city ring road. The Mayor has control over Tirana's population density. According to the Census, there are over 52 thousand empty apartments. Therefore, Tirana does not need large buildings.

Imagine what an earthquake would happen if I were elected mayor. Mr. Rama would not last even a week in power. Even our program for Tirana is a program whose realization depends on political transformations.

We are treating the elections in Tirana as political elections, not just administrative ones. These elections are about the city's problems, but my candidacy or my victory would be a political earthquake. The SP and the DP are close to the system, they have the same interests. My victory would be seen as the start of a political transformation for Albania. The Together Movement has judged that I am the most suitable representative for these elections," Qori said./CNA
