The new head of the OSCE Presence in Albania takes office

Michel Tarran, the diplomat, has taken over as the new head of the OSCE Presence in Tirana. In his first speech, he stated that he is looking forward to working with Albanian partners.

"I am extremely happy, both professionally and personally, to return to Albania as the head of the OSCE Presence, an organization that has contributed so much to the development of this beautiful country. I look forward to working with my wonderful team and side by side with our Albanian partners", said Tarran.

Previously, Tarran served as Ambassador of France to Tajikistan (2020-2023). Among other positions he has held are deputy ambassador at the French embassy in Tunisia (2009-2013); deputy ambassador at the French embassy in Latvia (2005-2009); deputy spokesperson at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (2002-2005); political adviser of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, UNMIK (2001-2002); and acting head and then deputy head of the French Liaison Office in Kosovo (1999-2001)./ CNA
