Serbian President Aleksandar Vu?i? compared himself to US President Donald Trump.

Among other things, in an interview with the Washington Examiner, Vu?i? accused the prestigious media outlet CNN of lying about the mass protests against his regime.

"CNN speaks against me just as it spoke against US President Donald Trump. Dear friends of the United States of America, you will understand everything. The truth is on the opposite side of what CNN says," Vu?i? said.

Vu?i? did not hesitate to accuse protesters of causing damage during the protests.

"You will see that they are doing and saying everything against me, as they said against American President Trump, and then everything will become clear to you," Vucic said.

This was in response to a question about what he would like American viewers to know about Serbia, as they inform themselves on social media. Asked what he thought the protesters wanted at this point, Vu?i? replied that the protesters had destroyed 186 tractors.

Vu?i? justified himself by saying that they did not want to arrest any protesters, but were forced to because they were causing violence.

"The only big fight they had was among themselves. Nobody responded, we didn't want to arrest anyone. In the end we had to arrest 44 people. 13 people were arrested because they were drunk or causing violence," Vu?i? added./CNA
