Mediu: Measures should be taken against the risks of conflicts in the Middle

Former Defense Minister Fatmir Mediu said today that Albania must conduct a coordinated analysis, which comes as information from intelligence sources, partner services and Albanian institutions, to see the risks that threaten us and the measures that need to be taken from the latest developments in the Middle East.

Invited to a show on 'A2CNN', Mediu stated that Albania, as a NATO member country, must have a structure for analyzing security issues periodically and permanently.

"We need to conduct a coordinated analysis, which comes as information from intelligence sources, from partner services and Albanian institutions, to see what are the risks that threaten us and the measures that need to be taken. The National Security Council only has the right to advise, but it no longer meets to advise. It is unacceptable that a NATO member country does not have a structure for analyzing security issues periodically and permanently. Especially considering the problems in the Balkans, the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the problems in the Middle East, we need to conduct periodic analysis and not watch American television and say what the American president likes," Mediu declared./CNA
