Manja in the commission: Ready to address OSCE/ODIHR recommendations in the

Member of the Electoral Reform Commission, Ulsi Manja, has expressed their readiness to address the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations in the Electoral Code.

Manja suggested that the option to extend the commission's work should be removed, as according to him, any electoral changes should be completed within 9 months. He said that citizens should be familiar with the electoral changes at least 6 months before the local elections to be held in the spring of 2027.

"This is the right place to address the problems raised in the Electoral Code. But we need to discuss them during the 9 months that the Assembly has set. But something that is not done in 9 months will not be done even if it is postponed. We are ready to address the OSCE/ODIHR recommendations. Then the other issues, not constitutional amendments, not coalitions, are in the Constitution of the Republic, it requires another majority to be touched. Let's continue the work on those that we have in hand. We agreed in the Electoral Code on the diaspora vote. Sending the ballot paper by envelope there is certainly not a secret vote. How can we discuss secrecy, we did not guarantee it, that's how we agreed in the Electoral Code. But let's discuss this here too. I suggest that we move quickly with the work of the Commission and with the experts who are given a deadline for their work. I think you should remove the point about the extension. The next elections are the local ones in the spring of 2027. And at least 6 months before the elections, voters should be familiar with the changes. ", said Manja. /CNA
