DP leader Sali Berisha met with Italian MP Jacopo Morrone, Chairman of the Parliamentary Investigative Committee on the Garbage Mafia in Italy, accompanied by Municipal Councilor Daniele Mezzacapo and a group of Albanian-Italian entrepreneurs from the Emilia Romagna region.

During the meeting, Berisha informed the Italian MP about the incinerator scandal and explained that Prime Minister Edi Rama is behind this affair.

"Meeting with Italian MP, Jacopo Morrone, Chairman of the Parliamentary Investigative Committee on the Garbage Mafia, accompanied by Municipal Councilor, Daniele Mezzacapo and a group of Albanian-Italian entrepreneurs from the Emilia Romagna region.

Deputy Morrone informed us about the activity of his committee and the importance of the issue of the garbage mafia in both the Italian regional and European reality.

I thanked him for his visit to Albania ???????? and informed him about the specific gravity of the incinerator and toxic waste scandal. Both cases are linked to actors based in Italy.

Recalling the denunciations of former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, I emphasized that Prime Minister Rama himself is behind the garbage mafia in Albania. I emphasized the importance that the Italian anti-mafia has had in shedding light on many cases of corruption and organized crime, inviting me and the Italian authorities to invest strongly in shedding light on this abuse of hundreds of millions of euros.

In conclusion, I would like to remind you that for the Democratic Party, the concept of a great Albania is based on a state with low taxes, that fights corruption and attracts foreign investment, especially from Italy, our main economic and cultural partner.
