Prime Minister Edi Rama declared in New York that he is holding talks to enable direct flights between the USA and Albania.

He stated that he is currently in talks with the American company DELTA, but there is still no agreement.

The head of the government did not give a date for the opening of the direct line, while emphasizing that the first flight will take place in New York.

"Albania has the international airport with the largest growth in Europe and currently the airport is negotiating with the American company DELTA to launch direct flights from America to Albania. I don't know when this negotiation will end, while we are getting ready to open the international airport of Vlora, which will be the airport with the longest runway in the region. Are we discussing with Air Albania to enable a direct Air Albania flight and the first flight, I don't know when it will happen. We will definitely make the first flight to New York. It is certain that the long time you have been waiting to have a direct flight with Albania will not be so long anymore and I believe that in a reasonable time we will realize it and bring the plane here. DELTA has expressed interest, because even the tour operators in America have a growing interest in visiting Albania directly", said Rama./ CNA
