Toxic waste will be returned on Sunday/ Muçollari: Everyone at the Port

On Sunday, hazardous waste, the alarm for which was raised about a month ago, returns to Albania.

The Basel Network has requested transparency regarding this issue. The opposition has expressed itself in the same line.

The member of the Presidency of the DP, Grigels Muçollari, has called on the citizens, mainly of Tirana and Durrës, to be present at the moment of the arrival of the cargoes with waste at the port, in order to make it transparent.

Muçollari declared that Prime Minister Edi Rama will do everything to remove his responsibility in this illegal international traffic and to manipulate the truth.

Full statement:

Despite the repeated requests from the public, from the Basel Network, from the Opposition, to take measures to ensure full transparency in the testing of the suspicious waste that is being returned to Durrës, the government has not made public any steps taken in this direction .

Ships return on Sunday 27 October. They will be anchored in Durrës, where they were loaded with 102 containers, for which the Basel Network issued an alert that they are dangerous substances.

This organization, the most specialized in toxic substances, has doubts that the government can manipulate the testing, and in two consecutive letters it has asked the government to guarantee a transparent process and in the public eye.

The Basel network has requested the presence of experts and international bodies, including OLAF, the European Union's office that investigates fraud and corruption.

So, this institution believes that if it is left to the government, the truth about the cargoes of suspected toxic waste will not be known.

The Democratic Party knows very well that Edi Rama will do everything to avoid his responsibility in this illegal international traffic, and will do everything to manipulate the truth.
