The Assembly returns to work / Tomorrow the first plenary session for 2026

The first parliamentary session for 2026 will be held tomorrow. The plenary session will begin at 5:00 p.m. The agenda does not include any laws to be approved, but debates are expected.

AGENDA

In support of order no. 2, dated 12.1.2026 of the President of the Assembly, Mr. Niko Peleshi, the agenda is as follows:

1. Opening of the proceedings of the II session of the XI Legislature. (In accordance with Article 74, point 1, of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania and Article 42 of the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly) The Chairmen of the parliamentary groups shall speak (no more than 10 minutes)

2. Approval of the minutes of the plenary session of 18.12.2025. (Article 44, point 2, of the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly)

3. Announcements. (Article 44, point 3, of the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly)

Agenda for tomorrow's session

We recall that the last plenary session, held on December 18, was accompanied by tension and chaos. Opposition MPs blocked the rostrum, while physical clashes with the guard were not absent.

Meanwhile, tomorrow at 11:00, the meeting of the Conference of Mayors will take place, while at 12:30, the Committee for Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight will meet. /CNA
