Who paid for Erion Veliaj's two failed visits to the US?
Erion Veliaj

Mayor Erion Veliaj, who is under investigation on 4 charges by SPAK , has in recent weeks attempted to travel frequently to the US, hold meetings and wage a battle there against SPAK for its problems of corruption, concealment of assets, laundering of proceeds of crime or abuse of office.

The mayor of Tirana was seen leaving Albania before the New Year and was said to be traveling to the USA.

The reason for the visit was not made public. If it had been an official visit, if there had been such meetings, at least some photos would have been published of who he had met with and what he had met about, since Veliaj even makes it public when he goes out on the street and meets a sweeper.

On the other hand, sources close to the mayor said that he had not been to the US before New Year's, but had left with his family in Vienna.

The question is very simple:

Who paid for Erion Veliaj's travel expenses?

Who paid for Erion Veliaj's two failed visits to the US?

If his visit to Austria was private or he went with his family, how much money did he take?

In case he didn't go to the US, we are always taking it for granted that he went all the way to Vienna, that he could have gone to the US and failed, and this is not in dispute, because as we pointed out above, he would have at least published the photos of the meeting.

The mayor doesn't give up his habit.

They say that habit comes with the soul. When he returned to the US, but this time it is proven that he failed spectacularly, not only could he not go to one of the halls where Trump's ceremony took place, to the premises where many Albanian politicians were present who made presentations and took their photos with congressmen, the meetings they had had in the hall and others, but Erion Veliaj could not even go to the parking lot of the sports palace where the meeting with the crowd took place, in a presentation meeting where tickets were sold .

It is confirmed that tickets were sold for a meeting and Erion Veliaj may have had one of them, the ticket paid for by a businessman, who is also under investigation by SPAK for connections with Erion Veliaj and his wife, for earning hundreds of thousands of euros through a tender and renting out the facility to Ajola Xoxa's "Harabel" entity. The businessman himself was in the US, as was Erion Veliaj himself, but the latter, perhaps out of fear of SPAK's investigations or perhaps because he did not accept who did not go to the meeting, was not present in the hall, out of fear that he could become a second Bilal if he entered as this businessman's wife, or out of fear of SPAK's investigations or out of his paranoia, Erion Veliaj went all the way to the US, but was unable to enter, where the ticket had been cancelled.

So, there are two failed visits, either to Austria or to the US the first time and to the US now. The question arises:

Who paid for both of these visits?

Tirana taxpayers? That if the mayor goes to the US or China or wherever he pleases for his own pleasure but his personal troubles with justice, they cannot pay the citizens of Tirana, they cannot take it from the children of daycare centers or kindergartens, they cannot take it from the homeless, homeless residents, those on social assistance so that Erion Veliaj can travel in luxury and business to the US, to go and come as often as he wants, but also to fail because he has no official meetings.

They've put a stop to it. Finally, some diplomats who had remained with him in the hope that he might break some ground also fled.

Veliaj may want to travel to the US whenever he wants, but he has to go with his own money and SPAK should investigate this,  not just his failure because they have already paid him the bill across the ocean, but the money that is being spent for Erion Veliaj to solve problems with justice with the money of Tirana taxpayers, with the money of the capital's nurseries and kindergartens, with the money of schools, with the money of economic aid that citizens do not receive, but is spent on the trips of the mayor of Tirana. / CNA
