Analyst Kreshik Spahiu says that the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, will not form a coalition with former prime minister Sali Berisha for the May 14 elections.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Spahiu said that Berisha will compete alone in the elections, although he underlined that it will be difficult for him to register.

"Definitely it will not be respected. I am convinced, even in the 2025 elections, there will not be a coalition of LSI with Sali Berisha. I think Berisha will go alone.

Unë mendoj që Berisha do ta ketë të vështirë edhe në këto zgjedhje të regjistrohet. Është një grupim i cili po shkon drejt shkrirjes dhe shpërbërjes përfundimtare”, theksoi ai.

Spahiu shtoi se sipas ligjit të Republikës së Shqipërisë PD nuk mund të ekzistojë pasi është në kaos dhe ka tre kryetarë.

“Mendoj se Partia Demokratike sot nuk ekziston. Komisioni Qendror i Zgjedhjeve duhet t’i vlerësojë të gjitha partitë. Ligji për partitë politike përcakton qartë se si duhet të funksionojë dhe se si duhet të organizohet një parti.

Një grupim politik nuk mund të funksionojë në kaos dhe në anarki se konsiderohet veprimtari e paligjshme. Partia Demokratike është me tre kryetarë, Sali Berisha, Enkeled Alibeaj, Lulzim Basha.
