The leader of the FRPD, Besart Xhaferri, who received the mandate of deputy from the parliamentary elections, said today that on May 11, an electoral crime warned by the opposition occurred, which was not hidden, but was openly carried out by the Government and the Socialist Party. Invited to an interview on 'Syri TV', Xhaferri said that when the Government uses crime as an electoral asset, these are the results that emerge.
According to Xhaferri, the Democratic Party will fact-check and document the electoral crime and will lobby the international community to put Albania at the top of the agenda for its democratization.
"On May 11, a crime occurred that the opposition had warned about before the elections. This time, there was no attempt to hide it from the Socialist Party, but everything happened openly."
First, the public administration was involved in the electoral process. Second, money was distributed by the government itself through the forgiveness of fines and the distribution of pensions. Illegal constructions were carried out in all four corners of Albania, which are expected to be legalized later in exchange for votes.
Another concern is the distribution of cannabis cultivation licenses, which the leader of the Democratic Party has denounced with facts as a vote-buying scheme. The fifth is the involvement of criminal gangs, which have been given the names of anonymous deputies, indicating how many votes they control in the respective regions, so that in Rama's eyes they look "okay" for future power deals such as the distribution of permits for casinos, for cannabis, for the construction of towers and hotels.
One billion cannabis roots and thousands of kulla roots have been signed by Rama himself to be given to the gangs. Now that the criminal side has made the investment before the elections, it is expected to receive the reward from Edi Rama, who has had a political "marriage" of over 12 years with them since 2013, when he introduced them to Parliament, and until today, when he is supporting new MPs who serve these cartels.
When the government uses crime as an electoral asset, these are the results that emerge. If we look at the names with the most votes, the accusations we have raised are clearly proven. The votes have been bought, directed, manipulated, intimidated and in the end, this process turns into an electoral farce.
"The Democratic Party will fact-check and document the electoral crime, will denounce the violations of this government, and our deputies in the electoral zones will protect the citizens. In the end, we will lobby the international factor so that Albania is at the top of the agenda for its democratization," said Xhaferri. /CNA
