The merger of Gazment Bardhi with Sali Berisha's group is expected to take another step.

On Monday, the meeting of the National Council of the Democratic Party was announced, where official sources told CNA that Gazment Bardhi will be appointed, that is, elected as the vice president of the Democratic Party.

The National Council is expected to take this decision, as Gazment Bardhi is the head of the Parliamentary Group, known by most of the MPs and after joining Berisha's group, almost 40 MPs are already in unison with one position and are represented by Gazment Bardhi.

The chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Party is automatically the deputy chairman of this party by statute.

Gazment Bardhi was general secretary with Lulzim Basha, he ran away from there and was appointed group chairman, and now with the merger with Berisha, with the PD statute, the chairman of the Parliamentary Group is appointed vice chairman.

There are two incumbent vice-presidents of the Democratic Party, Luciano Boçi and Oerd Bylykbashi. Luciano Boçi is no longer a member of parliament and therefore cannot be the chairman of the Parliamentary Group, therefore one of the positions of the vice-chairmen is vacant.

This vacancy is expected to be resolved with Gazment Bardhin, who joining Berisha's group and the majority of deputies, as the head of the Parliamentary Group, is expected to take the post of PD vice-chairman.

The General Secretary is expected to continue Flamur Noka and there is still no official position for Luciano Boçi, but he can stay as party vice president and deal with the organization process./ CNA
