Oliver Varhelyi says it openly: I do not understand why the EU is not opening

The EU Enlargement Commissioner, Oliver Varhelyi, during a conference with journalists, said that the European Union should not make the decision to open the first chapter of negotiations with Albania, based on the work it has done in recent years. 

He said that he is trying to have the first conference in the coming months and open real negotiations with Albania. 

"I cannot speak about Albania in a negative way, I cannot do that. Your deeds and works have shown your progress. I do not believe that there are officials in Brussels who do not agree with these achievements. The EU will have to make the decision on the opening of the first chapter of the negotiations. I don't understand why we are not taking this decision. We are trying to help and in the following months to have the first conference and open the real negotiations", said Oliver Varhelyi. /CNA
