The former Foreign Minister of Albania, Ditmir Bushati, has stated that today's meeting between the leaders of the region and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is not a summit, but simply a joint activity.

Bushati made the comments in a link to the show "Now with Erla Mëhillin" on Euronews Albania, where he said that this activity does not fulfill the parameters of a summit either from the point of view of substance or form.

He also added that Albania's position regarding the war in Ukraine during these years is to be appreciated.

"I would like to make a distinction between the bilateral part, the segment of the bilateral visit and the assessment of the position that Albania has taken on Ukraine since the annexation of Crimea and then with the position in the Security Council.

The signed agreement or cooperation protocol between Albania and Ukraine will open new horizons between our countries. Meanwhile, the rest of the activity I would hesitate to call a Summit, but only a joint activity, because it does not fulfill the parameters of a summit either from the point of view of substance or form.

From the point of view of form, in order to go to a summit, diplomats and ministers must appear, the necessary compromises must be made, some things must be settled, etc. The other issue that needs to be analyzed more deeply is related to the participants in this format", said Bushati./ Euronews Albania
