What does Ervin Salianji want from the Democrats and the DP?

Ervin Salianji did not hesitate to surprise today with several statements regarding recent developments in the Democratic Party, after several actions with several Democrats, through separate organizations and meetings.

Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Salianji justified himself by saying that the only reason is a mobilization, since according to him, the DP cannot come to power otherwise.

Salianji said that there is a lack of representation in the DP and that the Democrats are looking for a winning party, avoiding an even stronger motive from him, at a time when the opposition accuses him of collaborating with the socialist majority.

"There is a reason why I and a group of Democrats are making such a move. There are two positions for the DP. One position, that we are fine like this and Rama is to blame. Every time we lose elections, it is an official position, there are some salarymen and some who sacrifice. Some privileged ones, who think that the Democrats owe them and these are important. The fact that this position was not changing, I thought that we should say some truths as I am. You say what does Salianji want? I want what every democrat wants, I want the DP to be a winning party. Do the Democrats want this?

Do the Democrats want the DP to be the winner? I believe so. Can the DP win? Yes. Can it come to power like this? No. With the behavior that the DP has, not the party, the leaders of the DP, it cannot come to power. You say it is wrinkled. There were by-elections, the DP received 2500 votes in Vlora… We received 1700 votes in Cërrik, 1000 votes in Tepelena. In five municipalities it cannot even get a mandate. These are alarm signs that a politician should read.

Is the DP comfortable with losing? I think so. Many DP leaders are comfortable with losing, they don't get tired of being winners. There is one privilege more than others. The disease of oppositionism, which thinks you have some privileges. We have serial losses and people who don't take any responsibility. There is distance from the Democrats, the halls are filling up with us and this shows, the Democrats are neglected, abandoned.

We lack representation. Some rules were set, the one who gets the most votes is promoted. Were those set for the primaries? No.

"Sali Berisha has a considerable number of votes. Because he is a symbol in the DP, he has been for 35 years, he will always have a number of votes, but it is not enough to come to power. We must find the mechanism, to go beyond the votes that Berisha has in the DP, so that the DP is a winning party," said Salianji.

In recent days, a series of stances towards Salijanj have erupted from well-known names in the DP, opposition MPs and more.

The Secretary General of the DP, Flamur Noka, ironically mocked Salianji for starting off with a bang as the 'savior' of the DP, but then turned to his own interest in a chair, and even shared some rumors about Salianji's intervention with Prime Minister Edi Rama on the issue of the Ombudsman. /CNA
