The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, spoke this evening about his relationship with Prime Minister Edi Rama, who has ignored and ridiculed him in several public appearances.

Veliaj said that the rumors about a "clash" between them are not true, as he said that for 20 years they have been communicating with each other every day.

"It's been 20 years since there hasn't been a day that I haven't communicated with Edi Rama. Even if we were on trips, even in the majority, even in the opposition. I have so much fun with these. We are so comfortable in our communication, we have confidences", he said in a TV appearance.

The socialist mayor described the head of the municipality as a brother, while declaring that it is a blessing to work with him.

" I call it a blessing that I have a prime minister who was mayor, who knows the problems of the city. We have a symbiosis, we have an energy and a chemistry.

I see myself as a loyal collaborator with whom we have shared difficult days, even when we have lost. I consider him a big brother that I never had. Today I am a candidate, I appreciate Ed as the best prime minister that Albania has had in democracy. It will be talked about in books" , emphasized Veliaj./ CNA.al
