The Democratic Party has reacted to President Bajram Begaj's statement, saying that the accusations raised by this political force are untrue claims.
Through a post on social media, the head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has published documents received from the Treasury where income is declared.
Bardhi states that the president's son, in addition to his employment in Germany, is employed with a salary of 30 thousand euros per year at an insurance company that, according to the statement, receives tenders from the Presidency.
"As always, Bajram Begaj spoke, but said nothing!
What prevented the "Miracle Doctor", who is also the President, from claiming that his son is being paid without even being in Albania by the company with which the Presidency has a contract for all the institution's procurements? No matter how much the disgraced President evades and twists, the answer is only one: Corruption and illegal profiteering by the President!
The photos below are taken from official asset declaration documents and from the State Treasury. A brief explanation of them: The President's son lives in Germany, where he is paid by a hospital as a doctor. But, 6 months after his father was appointed president, he is also paid in Albania by the insurance company, with which the presidency has a procurement contract. The payment is 30 thousand euros per year.
"This is just one of the scandalous cases for which we have requested the dismissal of the disgraced President Bajram Begaj. There are others. Therefore, the Parliament cannot close its eyes to corruption, which starts from the top of the state," Bardhi declares./ CNA
