The German deputy, Gunther Krichbaum of the CDU/CSU, taking the lead from the investigations that SPAK has launched against the former prime minister Sali Berisha, emphasized in a press conference that the special structure should be protected and not attacked. He called SPAK's statements about politicization absurd. 

According to the member of the German Bundestag, everyone is equal before the law.

"The statements about the politicization of SPAK are absurd, we should protect it, not attack it. Immunity is not a privilege for certain parliamentarians. It protects the functionality of the parliament. Which means; during Nazi Germany, when German MPs were sent to prison, the Nazis had a majority in parliament. That's why it's immunity. It guarantees and protects the functionality of the parliament, but not of individual parliamentarians. Immunity may be suspended by law enforcement authorities. These are dealt with across party lines, in Germany. When it comes to questioning immunity issues, there should be no doubt. No other way should be accepted. I want to be very clear. As for the fight against corruption, the following is self-evident. War is not an end in itself. Corruption affects the poorest of the poor in the country. Everyone is equal before the law. The fight against corruption must be serious. On the part of the Budenstag, this is a matter that is followed very closely. I want to highlight some of the special points before I move on to your questions. Both structures must deal with this issue, so that Albanians abroad can participate in the elections," said the German MP./ CNA
