The Executive Director of the Association of Municipalities, Agron Haxhimali, shared today a critical approach regarding the way public hearings are being conducted across Albania, regarding the Administrative-Territorial Reform.

Invited to 'Euronews Albania', Haxhimali stated that there is a prevailing dissatisfaction from both political sides regarding the process so far, which has entered a very intense phase.

According to the expert, legislators should not take a political approach to the new maps, at a time when citizens are demanding more services from local government.

"After several bureaucratic delays, the commission has now entered a phase of very intensive and very dynamic work. It has held a hearing. We are in the middle of the procedure from a time perspective and there are still 6 meetings left. Dissatisfaction dominates the discourse, whether from the left or the right. Citizens cannot explain, but they demand more services and these are normal. So far there is a good case. We who are behind this commission, must tell the legislators not to maintain the political approach", - said Haxhimali./ CNA
