Butrinti/Zhupa accuses Zacajt, ??warns of lawsuits in SPAK and in Strasbourg

The deputy of the DP, Ina Zhupa, threw accusations at the president of the Constitutional Court, Holta Zaçaj, as she spoke about the decision on the concession of Butrint.

In a press conference, Zhupa said that the decision of the Constitutional Court is in violation of the law and destroys cultural heritage.

According to her, Holta Zaçaj is against the public interest.

"Yesterday, the decision of the Constitutional Court on Butrint was clarified, which turns out to be against the Constitution and Albania and the protection of Cultural Heritage. This decision was taken in a fragile majority of 5 to 4.  

I want to emphasize two important elements that have emerged today, which are that in November 2023, in the plenary session, I requested the dismissal of three judges, namely Holta Xhacaj, Gent Ibrahimi and judge Sandër Beci, and we had indications of a conflict of interest.

Gent Ibrahimi is proven to have had relations with the two leaders of the ADF, exceeding his powers as the head of the KLP at that time. This friendship also extended to decision-making on a matter where they were directly involved as board members in the concession of Butrint", she said.

The MP warned of lawsuits in SPAK, as well as in the Strasbourg Court.

"Now that we have the decision, we will have to appeal to SPAK with a lawsuit to judge the activity of the state bodies, the activity of the ADF and the 3 judges who are in conflict of interest for us. We have the obligation to turn to SPAK. We can also appeal to the Strasbourg Court with a lawsuit, because we also have violations of human rights", Zhupa emphasized./ CNA
